What is a compounded medication?

A compounded medicine is a custom-made medication prepared by a pharmacist to meet the specific needs of an individual patient. It is created by mixing, combining, or altering ingredients to:

  • Provide a medication that is not commercially available
  • Tailor the dosage or form to the patient's needs
  • Eliminate unwanted ingredients, such as allergens

Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety, effectiveness or quality of compounded drugs.

How do I inject my GLP-1 medication?

GLP-1 medications are administered as a subcutaneous injection, meaning the medication is injected just beneath the skin—not into muscle or vein.

Most patients find the process simple and well-tolerated after their first few doses.

How long will I need to stay on medication?

It depends on your goals and how your body responds. Most patients stay on the program for 6–12+ months, though your provider will work with you to find the right timeline. Some patients transition to lower maintenance doses once they hit their goals, while others benefit from longer-term support. Your Enhance.MD provider will check in regularly and adjust your plan as you progress.

What is semaglutide?

Semaglutide belongs to a class of medications known as glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists, or GLP-1 RAs. It mimics the GLP-1 hormone, released in the gut in response to eating.

One role of GLP-1 is to prompt the body to produce more insulin, which reduces blood sugar (glucose). For that reason, health care providers have used semaglutide for more than 15 years to treat Type 2 diabetes.

But GLP-1 in higher amounts also interacts with the parts of the brain that suppress your appetite and signal you to feel full. When used in conjunction with diet and exercise, it can assist with weight management.

What is the best time to take your GLP-1 medication?

Is there a required BMI to qualify for GLP-1 medication?

Eligibility

New Patients: The minimum BMI to qualify for GLP-1 treatment is 25 or higher.

Maintenance Patients: If you are currently taking a GLP-1 or have recently taken GLP-1 treatments, the minimum BMI is 20 or higher.

Your medical provider will determine if you're eligible based on BMI and other relevant medical history.

How do I change my email address or password?

Click “Sign In” in the top right corner of enhance.md, then log in with your email and password. Once you’re on your Dashboard, expand the “My Info” section on the right side of the page. Under “Login Information,” you’ll see your email address and password — click the pencil icon next to either one to make changes.

How does Enhance.MD protect my privacy?

Your privacy is of the utmost importance to us. We never sell or share our email lists with outside parties. Our databases are PCI-DSS compliant to protect your information. All credit card information is securely encrypted, and we do not store credit card information in member profiles for your security. Even when you sign up for an auto-ship, only the last four digits of a credit card are visible. How can I view the status of my order?

If you are not deemed a candidate for the Enhance.MD program, you will be issued a refund.

When is my first video visit?

Once we receive your results (usually 1–2 business days), we’ll email you to schedule your video consultation with an Enhance.MD provider. The whole process from intake to your first visit typically takes about a week.

Why was I not eligible for the Enhance.MD program?

At Enhance.MD, your health and safety are always our top priorities. There are instances where pre-existing health conditions, medical history, health data, or potential medication conflicts might make our current treatment options unsuitable for safe and effective treatment.

Due to these considerations, Enhance.MD medical providers may not be able to provide a treatment pathway for you at this moment. Prescription medication isn't suitable for every individual. How do I know if I am eligible for GLP-1?

During your video consultation with your Enhance.MD provider, your provider will thoroughly review all medical information and determine your eligibility for a personalized GLP-1 treatment plan.

What pharmacy does Enhance.MD use?

Enhance.MD partners with three licensed compounding pharmacies: Tru Meds Rx, Strive Pharmacy, and Pharmacy Hub. All three are LegitScript certified, operate as 503A pharmacies (meaning every medication is compounded specifically for you as an individual patient), are compounded in the USA, and undergo third-party testing to ensure quality and safety. Your medication is prepared under strict federal and state regulations before it’s shipped directly to your door.

Can I use my own pharmacy to fill my prescription?

Our service includes shipping direct to your address from our network of partnered pharmacies, saving you the time of traveling to your local pharmacy.

Enhance.MD can submit a prescription to the pharmacy of your choice, in which case the prescription medication costs will be billed directly to you by your chosen pharmacy at the prices that they determine.

How can I renew my membership?

At Enhance.MD, your membership will automatically renew every 28 days. If you choose to pause or cancel your membership, please be aware that it will have an impact on your prescription refills.

Will I be billed when I get a refill?

Through Enhance.MD, we aim to provide a consistent supply of your weight management medication. This will be billed as part of the medication refill process when your prescription is transmitted to the pharmacy every 28-days.

If you were unable to upload the required photos during checkout, you can log into your Enhance.MD dashboard and click on "My Info". At the bottom of the "My Info" section you can View and Add your photos. You have the option to take a live photo or upload an existing photo from your device. How do I know if my photos are acceptable?

A full-face photo and a photo of your government issued ID are required. To be accepted, the photos should follow the below criteria:

  • The face photo should be clear, both eyes visible and open, selfie style.
  • The photo of your government issued ID, such as your drivers license or passport, should show the full ID and be clear enough to read the information. (For your drivers license only the front side of your ID is required.)

How can I fix a non-working discount code at checkout?

What kind of bloodwork do I need?

Why do some companies not require bloodwork?

How long will it take to receive my lab results?

It takes approximately 1-2 business days after your Quest Diagnostics appointment for us to receive your lab results. They will be populated to your account dashboard. Our providers will be ready to review your lab results with you to start your weight management journey.

Where do I get my bloodwork done?

Our collaboration with Quest Diagnostics across the country has simplified the process for you. Once your lab work is requested, we will alert you and provide a convenient link. You can easily schedule appointments at your convenience through Quest. Your labs will be monitored every six months while enrolled in the Enhance.MD program.

Do I need to get lab work done?

What’s the difference between compounded and branded GLP-1 medications?

What happens when I reach my goal weight?

What happens if I stop taking my medication?

You can cancel or pause your subscription at any time. For the smoothest experience, we ask for at least 48 hours’ notice before your next billing date. If you cancel before your prescription is sent to the pharmacy, you’re eligible for a full refund. Once medication has been processed or shipped, refunds may not be available. Can I transfer my prescription from another provider?

Yes. If you’re currently with another provider and want to switch to Enhance.MD, simply complete our medical intake and your Enhance.MD provider will work with you during your consultation. No need to contact your previous provider first.
