Which ingredients are
right for me?
When you meet with your provider, you will work together to tailor a serum that works best for your specific hair type and scalp. This ground breaking synergy of ingredients topically stimulates and activates consistent hair growth for men to target and build stronger, more resilient hair follicles.

Minoxidil
Minoxidil is used to stimulate hair growth and to slow balding. It is most effective for people under 40 years of age whose hair loss is recent. Minoxidil has no effect on receding hairlines. It does not cure baldness; most new hair is lost within a few months after the drug is stopped.

Finasteride
Finasteride (Propecia) is also used to treat male pattern hair loss (gradual thinning of the hair on the scalp, leading to a receding hairline or balding on the top of the head in men.) Finasteride (Propecia) has not been shown to treat thinning hair at the temples and is not used to treat hair loss in women or children. Finasteride is in a class of medications called 5-alpha reductase inhibitors. Finasteride treats BPH by blocking the body's production of a male hormone that causes the prostate to enlarge. Finasteride treats male pattern hair loss by blocking the body's production of a male hormone in the scalp that stops hair growth.

Tretinoin
Tretinoin is in a class of medications called retinoids. It works by promoting peeling of affected skin areas and unclogging pores. Tretinoin can enhance minoxidil response in androgenetic alopecia patients by upregulating follicular sulfotransferase enzymes.

Latanoprost
A double-blind scientific study published in the May 2012 issue of the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology found that latanoprost, a drug that mimics naturally-derived compound molecules called prostaglandins, significantly increases hair density on the scalp after 24 weeks of treatment in young men with mild hair loss.

Fluocinonide
Fluocinonide topical is used to treat the itching, redness, dryness, crusting, scaling, inflammation, and discomfort of various skin conditions including psoriasis (a skin disease in which red, scaly patches form on some areas of the body) and eczema (a skin disease that causes the skin to be dry and itchy and to sometimes develop red, scaly rashes). Fluocinonide is in a class of medications called corticosteroids. It works by activating natural substances in the skin to reduce swelling, redness, and itching.

Ketoconazole
Ketoconazole cream is used to treat tinea corporis (ringworm; fungal skin infection that causes a red scaly rash on different parts of the body). ketoconazole is used to control flaking, scaling and itching of the scalp caused by dandruff. Ketoconazole is in a class of antifungal medications called imidazoles. It works by slowing the growth of fungi that cause infection.

What is compounding?
Drug compounding is often regarded as the process of combining, mixing, or altering ingredients to create a medication tailored to the needs of an individual patient. Compounding includes the combining of two or more drugs. Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved.
Why do some patients need compounded drugs?
A drug may be compounded for a patient who cannot be treated with an FDA-approved medication, such as a patient who has an allergy to a certain dye and needs a medication to be made without it, or an elderly patient or a child who cannot swallow a tablet or capsule and needs a medicine in a liquid dosage form. Practitioners in hospitals, clinics, and other health care facilities sometimes provide compounded drugs to patients when an FDA-approved drug is not medically appropriate to treat them. In these situations, compounding can serve an important patient need. However, some compounders engage in activities that can put patients at risk and/or undermine the drug approval process. For example, FDA has observed that some compounders have made false and misleading statements that compounded drugs are safe and effective, sometimes for the treatment of serious diseases, by incorrectly suggesting the drugs had met the standard for FDA approval.
Are compounded drugs approved by the FDA?
Compounded drugs are not FDA-approved. This means that FDA does not verify the safety or effectiveness of compounded drugs. Consumers and health professionals rely on the drug approval process for verification of safety, effectiveness, and quality. Compounded drugs also lack an FDA finding of manufacturing quality before such drugs are marketed.
Who can compound drugs?
Compounding commonly occurs in pharmacies, although it may also occur in other settings.
Federal law addresses compounding by a licensed pharmacist in a state-licensed pharmacy,
or federal facility, or by a physician, as well as compounding by or under the direct
supervision of a licensed pharmacist in an outsourcing facility.
Outsourcing facilities are a category of compounders established in 2013 by the Drug
Quality and Security Act. Outsourcing facilities are inspected by FDA according to a
risk-based schedule and are subject to increased quality standards.
Who inspects facilities that compound drugs?
Various entities may inspect facilities that compound drugs, including state boards of
pharmacy and FDA.
Generally, state boards of pharmacy have primary responsibility for the day-to-day
oversight of state-licensed pharmacies that are not registered with FDA as outsourcing
facilities. FDA does conduct surveillance and for-cause inspections of state-licensed
pharmacies that are not registered as outsourcing facilities.
Facilities that register with FDA as outsourcing facilities under section 503B are
primarily overseen by FDA and inspected by FDA according to a risk-based schedule.
